Questions we are asked
General information about the office. None of it is legal advice on your particular matter.
About the firm and how we work
What does the Law Office of Steven S. Kidder handle?
Steven S. Kidder reports five practice areas to the State Bar of Texas: creditor-debtor, criminal, family, commercial litigation, and wills, trusts and probate. The office is a solo practice in Victoria. If your matter is outside that list, ask. He will tell you whether he can assist.
Where is the office, and how do I reach it?
The office is at 121 S. Main Street, Suite 103, Victoria, Texas 77901. The phone number on the State Bar listing is 361-570-3723. Meetings are by appointment. The City of Victoria council number is for city business and is not the law office.
What fee arrangements are available?
The State Bar listing reports flat fees, hourly rates, and payment plans. Not every option is available for every matter, and any fee has to be agreed between the attorney and the client before work begins. The State Bar is not a party to that agreement.
Is Spanish-language assistance available?
Yes. The State Bar listing reports Spanish as a language in which the office can assist.
Does sending a message create an attorney-client relationship?
No. Contacting the office, including through this website, does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential facts until that relationship has been established.
Is this the same Steven Kidder who serves on the Victoria City Council?
Yes. The City of Victoria lists Steven Kidder as the District 2 council representative, and notes that he is a private-practice attorney and a former municipal court judge. Council service and the law practice are separate. Do not use a city channel to discuss a legal matter with the office.
Still have a question?
Ask the office directly. A message does not create an attorney-client relationship.
